Riding down the naked streets of Sheboygan, Wisconsin led my mind to consider, “Is the destination really all that important?”  I wasn’t only referring to the quiet adventure I was having that night, but every moment I find myself traveling from one place to another.  I’m not sure what caused these thoughts to form, whether it was the surreal sound of leaves scampering beneath the shadows or the branches of trees reaching out of the darkness and into the soft light of lamps.  What I do know is that this particular night captivated me.  It was cool with a breeze, but I felt rather warm, and might I say invincible to Discomfort.

What I came to realize was that in any moment I desire to move, of which I love to do almost at all times, I should not make my primary goal the destination.  One might ask, “Then how do you get there?”  A fair question, but one missing the greatest part of life, and that is to enjoy it.  What I am saying is that rather than focusing solely on my destination, I might get more out of life by focusing on how I can enjoy the journey to my destination.

In short, instead of making my goal the destination, my goal would be to enjoy getting to the destination.  At this point, if I end up not making it, then at least I enjoyed the ride.
